The club has now integrated the Good Citizens Dog Scheme into its Training sessions which all Members who train their dogs at the club may take part in.

The object is to ensure your Shepherd is a well behaved PET DOG in the company of canines/other animals and us homosapiens!

The exercises include things like walking properly on the lead, grooming, Vet inspections, temperament etc., - basic standards which I'm sure we would all want for our dogs.

The Trainers

The club is very fortunate to benefit from an experienced team of trainers who have been handling, stewarding and judging obedience and trials events as well as competing at shows all around the country. The team line up is.....

Anne Adamthwaite:
A shepherd owner for many years, Anne competes regularly in obedience. Anne has two G.S.D. P.A.T. Dogs Fern and Skye who regularly visit an old peoples home. Anne is also P.A.T. Dog Assessor

Brian Whales:
Brian started competing in obedience about 12 years ago and has qualified his dog Kaida W.D.ex in working trials. Brian also judges both obedience and working trials.

Linda Whales A.M.A.C.C. DIP. ACP (NOCN) :
Linda is an Associate member of the Animal Care College and holds a Diploma in Advanced Canine Psychology. A shepherd owner and occasional breeder for over 30 years, Linda first competed in obedience about 20 years ago working up to Test B, she has also competed with some success in both working trials and the breed ring. Linda judges all three disciplines.

Advisors:
As well as our experienced obedience trainers who between them have over 80 years of shepherd owning experience, our membership includes several, well respected breeders and show judges, including championship show judges, so we are, within the Club, able to advise on all aspects of owning and living with the German Shepherd not just the training aspect.
